Català: Arbre filogenètic de la vida.
Deutsch: Ein Phylogenetischer Baum der lebenden Dinge, basierend auf RNS Daten und von Carl Woese vorgeschlagen, zeigt die Trennung in die Domänen Bacteria, Archaea, und Eukaryota. Bäume, die auf anderen Genen aufbauen, sehen im Allgemeinen recht ähnlich aus, teilweise sind die Verzweigungen jedoch an anderen Längen platziert. Die genaue Beziehung zwischen den drei Domänen ist noch immer Gegenstand wissenschaftlicher Diskussion. Es wurde auch in Frage gestellt, ob dieser Baum aufgrund des lateralen Gentransfers die beste Darstellung der genetischen Beziehungen aller Organismen ist. Es gibt so einige genetische Hinweise, dass die Eukaryonten aus einer Vereinigung von einigen Bakterien und Archaeen entstanden sein könnten, wobei die einen zu Organellen wurden und die anderen zu richtigen Zellen.
English: A phylogenetic tree of living things, based on RNA data and proposed by Carl Woese, showing the separation of bacteria, archaea, and eukaryotes. Trees constructed with other genes are generally similar, although they may place some early-branching groups very differently, thanks to long branch attraction. The exact relationships of the three domains are still being debated, as is the position of the root of the tree. It has also been suggested that due to lateral gene transfer, a tree may not be the best representation of the genetic relationships of all organisms. For instance some genetic evidence suggests that eukaryotes evolved from the union of some bacteria and archaea (one becoming an organelle and the other the main cell).
