In the late 1990s and early 2000s, I was the webmaster of the "Palmares of Elite Women Cycle Racers" web site (no longer in operation). Most of the data in the palmares section of this article was collected in connection with that site. In almost all cases, the data originated from official race web sites or in some cases from official race communiques.
Most of the data can, additionally, be checked for accuracy by examining the archives at cyclingnews.com or at the UCI web site.
The biographical information is based in part on an interview which I obtained from Ms. Neben at the 2001 Women's Challenge bike race that year (immediately following her victory in the Burley to Magic Mountain stage - see podium shot at top of article).
