I intend to maintain this article on Citizendium. I wrote its original version for Wikipedia during 2006. The source for most of the material was the public domain Dictionary of American Naval Fighting Ships. I did the extensive Wikification, which included standardization of geographical names across the range of articles on similar ships. I also copy edited the DANFS material, added facts, found photos and external links, etc. There have been few changes by others, and they are minor. I left in the red links, hoping that Citizendium would have articles about them soon. The table at the top of the article is based on similar tables in Wikipedia; I've modified it slightly for CZ. | I intend to maintain this article on Citizendium.
When I brought the article to CZ, I added the History section heading, improved the headings on the table, and made minor copy edits. Louis F. Sander 20:34, 11 April 2007 (CDT)
