The CZ version also allows two subdivisions.  That is, in the Wikipedia taxobox, the entry can only have one type of subdivision, such as order or family.  Some entries, however, have direct children in multiple types of taxonomic division, such as [[[Drosophilidae]], which has 2 subfamilies and 1 genus directly below it in the tree.

The second subdivision works exactly as the regular subdivision, except the variables are called subdivision2 and subdivision2_ranks.
Example:
| subdivision_ranks = Subfamilies
| subdivision =
*[[Family1]]
*[[Family2]]
| subdivision2_ranks = Genus
| subdivision2 =
*[[Genus1]]

This template is for creating Taxoboxes. It was originally copied from Wikipedia, but has been modified since.

The Wikipedia version is documented here; the CZ version is slightly different, in that it adds several layers:

  • unranked_regnum
  • alliance
  • sero_complex
  • variety

The CZ version also allows two subdivisions. That is, in the Wikipedia taxobox, the entry can only have one type of subdivision, such as order or family. Some entries, however, have direct children in multiple types of taxonomic division, such as [[[Drosophilidae]], which has 2 subfamilies and 1 genus directly below it in the tree.

The second subdivision works exactly as the regular subdivision, except the variables are called subdivision2 and subdivision2_ranks.

Here is the full list of layers supported (given as argument names):
