The Washington Examiner is an American conservative news outlet created in 2005 by the merging three suburban papers (the Montgomery Journal, Prince George's Journal, and Northern Virginia Journal). The Media Bias Fact Check website, which provides an objective bias rating, describes the publication as
"moderately to strongly biased toward conservative causes through story selection and/or political affiliation. They may utilize strong loaded words (wording that attempts to influence an audience by using appeal to emotion or stereotypes), publish misleading reports and omit reporting of information that may damage conservative causes. Some sources in this category may be untrustworthy."[1]
As of 2024, the Washington Examiner is controlled by American billionaire Philip Anschutz[2] through MediaDC, a subsidiary of Clarity Media Group.
