As I post this article, I add also a clarification. The original article in WP was really about [[geochronometry]]. I know many Earth scientists do not like to distinguish between [[geochronology]] and [[geochronometry]] (and I am among them). But the latest edition of the International Stratigraphic guide has different definitions for these disciplines, thus, I decided to stick with the Guide. That's why this article is so different from its "parent".

By the way, I am not totally satisfied with geochronometry. I wonder if someone could take a look and polish it...
