The Skagerrak and Kattegat waters separate Denmark from its Scandinavian neighbours, Norway and Sweden, although a tunnel and bridge over the Oresund now connects Denmark to Sweden. There are 406 islands belonging to Denmark, of which only 78 are inhabited. The capital of Denmark is Copenhagen.
