Flash Gordon is a long running series of comic strips as well as radio, movie and television stories, concerning the science fiction adventures of a heroic polo-playing Yale graduate transplanted from 20th century earth to a Space opera setting of interplanetary warlords and alien creatures. The comic strip was created by Alex Raymond, who also illustrated the medieval Prince Valiant stories. A Saturday morning serial followed with ex-Olympic swimmer Buster Crabbe as Flash. Revivals of the series include a Dino De Laurentiis movie in 1980, with Music by Queen and a 2007 cable television series produce for the Sci-Fi Channel.
