Ported from WP because it has two great things: HIGH readership on WP (6000 readers PER DAY) AND it has one of Daniel Mietchen's keywords "SEO" which reportedly drives traffic to sites like WP and CZ. That is, this article MAY have the affect of boosting readership to CZ. I rewrote much of the WP text, eliminated some hard to understand stuff, and made new drawings to illustrate concepts such as PageRank and link farm. Will try to improve this article in future. Not sure if I'm getting the other pages right (metadata, related articles, etc etc).--[[User:Thomas Wright Sulcer|Thomas Wright Sulcer]] 23:49, 1 March 2010 (UTC)

Anyone (by which I mean anyone other than me, since I don't care enough about SEO to do it!) want to sneak a crafty link to Derek Powazek's superb rant [http://powazek.com/posts/2090 Spammers, Evildoers, and Opportunists] in to the page? I agree with him though: the good advice that SEO consultants give is obvious, everything else is bad advice - and that every hour you spend on SEO could be better spent on making better content. –[[User:Tom Morris|Tom Morris]] 15:06, 3 March 2010 (UTC)

Reason for article

Ported from WP because it has two great things: HIGH readership on WP (6000 readers PER DAY) AND it has one of Daniel Mietchen's keywords "SEO" which reportedly drives traffic to sites like WP and CZ. That is, this article MAY have the affect of boosting readership to CZ. I rewrote much of the WP text, eliminated some hard to understand stuff, and made new drawings to illustrate concepts such as PageRank and link farm. Will try to improve this article in future. Not sure if I'm getting the other pages right (metadata, related articles, etc etc).--Thomas Wright Sulcer 23:49, 1 March 2010 (UTC)

Wondering

Check out these: Seo, seo, SEO. What's weird is on my user page User:Thomas_Wright_Sulcer, the middle term "seo" doesn't light up blue, but red, and when I click on it, it suggests the article needs to be created.--Thomas Wright Sulcer 15:03, 3 March 2010 (UTC)

Note I added a redirect page, and now it all seems to light up blue.--Thomas Wright Sulcer 15:03, 3 March 2010 (UTC)

Want to add a criticism section?

Anyone (by which I mean anyone other than me, since I don't care enough about SEO to do it!) want to sneak a crafty link to Derek Powazek's superb rant Spammers, Evildoers, and Opportunists in to the page? I agree with him though: the good advice that SEO consultants give is obvious, everything else is bad advice - and that every hour you spend on SEO could be better spent on making better content. –Tom Morris 15:06, 3 March 2010 (UTC)

I liked the link -- sensible information. Why not add it to the external links section? I'll put it there on the external links subpage.--Thomas Wright Sulcer 17:27, 3 March 2010 (UTC)
