Duplin County is in the Coastal Plain region of North Carolina and has an estimated population of 51,500 people (as of the year 2004). Kenansville is the county seat, and it is also home to the communities of Wallace and Warsaw. The county was named in honor of a member of the English Board of Trade and Plantations named Thomas Hay, Lord Duplin.
