The default syntax is

<code><nowiki>{{Wikimapia|latitude|longitude|elevation|page_name|map_type}}</nowiki></code>

The map_type parameter may take any of 4 values:

* a = auto: this is the default view, and displays political boundaries and place names on a satellite terrain map
* m = map: this displays major highways, roads and rail networks, as well as place names (depending on elevation parameter value, without terrain
* s = satellite: this displays only terrain information without political boundaries or labels
* h = hybrid: this is a hybrid of options ''m'' and ''s''

this template has been seeded from WP. I am on the lookout for new parameters that Wikimapia or Google Maps may have exposed on their api s since the last time there was an update on the template in WP, so that the feature can be made richer. Any thoughts?

Notes on usage

The default syntax is

{{Wikimapia|latitude|longitude|elevation|page_name|map_type}}

The map_type parameter may take any of 4 values:

  • a = auto: this is the default view, and displays political boundaries and place names on a satellite terrain map
  • m = map: this displays major highways, roads and rail networks, as well as place names (depending on elevation parameter value, without terrain
  • s = satellite: this displays only terrain information without political boundaries or labels
  • h = hybrid: this is a hybrid of options m and s
