An historian vs. a historian
Personally, I think "an" *sounds* better. I looked at the WP article on "An" and it's unclear where "historian" falls in this debate. There are arguments to be made for either side.
I then did a Google for "an historian" and found 734,000 hits, an impressive number. Just to be impartial, however, I then Googled "a historian" and found 1,810,000 hits.
So I guess we'll leave it as "a historian." :( Hayford Peirce 11:39, 1 July 2007 (CDT)
