: I worried about this. I tell my students to avoid using \times for multiplication, since it gets confusing when used with the variable x. I guess I was just governed by habit. - I worried about this. I tell my students to avoid using \times for multiplication, since it gets confusing when used with the variable x. I guess I was just governed by habit. Since there are no x's here, I suppose \times might be better.Barry R. Smith 06:18, 25 June 2008 (CDT)
