The Minnesota Twins are a Major League Baseball team based in the Minneapolis-St. Paul twin cities area of Minnesota. The team was founded in 1901 as the Washington Senators, one of the inaugural teams in the American League. The team moved to Minnesota and became the Twins starting with the 1961 season.
