Sic Semper Tyrannis is a Latin phrase meaning "Thus Always to Tyrants". It is the official motto of the U.S. State of Virginia.[1]
John Wilkes Booth, the assassin of Abraham Lincoln, was reported to have said it as he leaped from Lincoln's theater box after shooting him.[2]
