Circular definition

It is of some interest to point out that our friends over at WP have a circular definition of maxwell (unit) and gauss (unit): maxwell is defined as gauss×cm2 and gauss is defined as maxwell/cm2. --Paul Wormer 05:58, 25 June 2008 (CDT)

Abbreviation

Wikipedia gives Mw as abbreviation for the unit maxwell. The New Oxford Dictionary of English, Clarendon 1998 and Collins English Dictionary 4th edition 1998 both give Mx, as does the quoted web link. --Paul Wormer 15:19, 23 February 2009 (UTC)
