I am a graduate student in nutrition at Hunter College, one of the CUNY colleges. I am working on both my masters degree and my Registered Dietitian certification. I have a general interest in the interrelationship of human diet and human evolution, and the relationship between nutrition and disease. I have had a delightful internship at the Smithsonian Institution where I catalogued phytoliths from plants from the Near East, and published a paper on transformations of microscopic starch granules due to cooking. In my free time I enjoy experimenting with cuisines from around the world, studying the Japanese language, practicing ballet and cycling around the city. On occassion I collaborate with my husband on short independent films and documentary projects.
