CZ:Chemistry Workgroup
Welcome fellow chemists! We are very pleased to have you as a member of CZ. In order to have a coherent structure in our chemistry related articles and aid new chemistry authors, we have created the Chemistry style guide to provide guidance for new authors. It contains examples of code used to created chemical reactions, style used for chemical structures, and other useful hints. Also, be sure to sign up for the cz-chemistry email list here [1]. A list of priority chemistry articles that need to be written can be found at Chemistry Core Articles. This is a dynamic list subject to change and improvement.
Eventually, we would like to create articles for every chemical compound known. However, some classes of compounds have a higher priority due to everyday use or curiosity. Prescription drugs are good examples of this because millions of people use them and have no idea what they are. Because of this, drug articles will attract many search engine hits and draw in new readers, authors and editors. Some areas, like statins and antiviral drugs, are well-covered, but others remaining untouched. Pick a drug class and go to work! Be sure to include the in the category list for drug articles.
We have several templates of interest to the chemist. We currently have a template for an information box for the chemical elements, see phosphorus for example, in which certain pieces of data are compiled. A similar box for chemical compounds is under discussion and will be avialable shortly. The Template{{DailyMed}} provides an easy way to link to the FDA for drug articles.
Finally, don't be shy! Jump right in and start creating new content. If you encounter any problems, just send a note to one of the active chemists on CZ. You can find them by checking the recent changes link on the chemistry workgroup page.

Refine the proposed subgroups listed below
| |||
All subgroups are the start of a top-down article discussing all of that subgroup. If the subgroup page has no link to the start Chemistry page that link need be inserted at the appropriate place. All subgroups are responsible for the document carrying their name. Subdocuments per documents need be discussed first at the respective talk pages. |
