  • Feldman, Allen, and Eamonn O'Doherty. The Northern Fiddler: Music and Musicians of Donegal and Tyrone. Blackstaff Press, 1979. Combines a fascinating oral history, with interviews of some of the finest living Donegal fiddlers still living in the late 1970s, photographs and artwork, and many transcriptions of tunes (not perfect, but serviceable). Out of print but well worth looking for.
  • Mac Aoidh, Caoimhin. Between the Jigs and the Reels: The Donegal Fiddle Tradition. Drumlin Publications, 1994. A general introduction to the fiddle music of Donegal, with heavy attention to the minutiae of local traditions--something of a musical gazeteer.
