I thought I would work through this page along the following sections. It would be great if someone joins in. Help with epidemiology would be greatly appreciated.

I will try not to refer to 'patients' as people get diabetes not patients and I will also try not to say diabetics as it defines people by a disease.

This page has grown into a general introduction to DM and a some introduction to the differences and similarities of the sub-types. I will continue with:

Diagnosis of diabetes mellitus

Symptoms, signs, lab tests

Adverse effects of diabetes mellitus

Microvascular macrovascular

Management of diabetes mellitus

Glycaemic control, mimimisation of adverse effects, lifestyle changes, drugs

Epidemiology of diabetes mellitus

Including future trends

History of diabetes mellitus

Eber papyrus, Soranus, and onward
