viral

isn't it about 85% of pharyngitis is viral? I want to put down somewhere that EBV and Adeno vs Strep group A cannot be distinguished with physical exam alone. History and PE can point to one or the other, but rapid strep testing and Cx are essential. Why do they say that culture is necessary for children? isn't the 90% sens?/spec? good enough on the rapid strep test? Tom Kelly
