Euhemerus [r]: Ancient theorist of mythology who surmised that all myths were merely history, but misunderstood. He lived around 300 BCE. He suggested Zeus and other gods had been kings and that myths were exaggerated stories. This definition is based on her course Classical Mythology for The Teaching Company.
