Titanic was a popular 1997 film set aboard the RMS Titanic on her first and fatal voyage.[1] The film was very expensive to produce.[2] Gloom-mongers, citing rumors of acrimony on the set, budget over-runs, and missed schedules, predicted disaster.[3] They predicted that the only way the film could break even if it turned out to be the highest grossing film in history.

The film did turn out to be the highest grossing film.[1][2]
