The Pew Charitable Trusts are a group of U.S. philanthropic organizations, which, rather than being a pure funding source, also operate the Pew Research Center, which conducts a variety of independent research programs. The organization combines the assets of seven funds of the Pew Family, heirs of the Sun Oil Company.

In addition to policy research, and the Health and Environment groups, they support cultural improvement, especially in their home city of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
