In medicine, hepatitis is inflammation of the liver.[1]
Causes include:
- Alcoholic hepatitis
- Viral hepatitis
- Autoimmune hepatitis
- Drug toxicity
- Other causes
- Hepatolenticular degeneration (Wilson's disease)
Diagnosis
Patterns in liver function tests and other blood tests can help distinguish causes.[2]
