Wichita-class [r]: Completed in 1939, a 10,600 ton single-ship heavy cruiser class of the United States Navy, design was essentially an upgunned, uparmored Brooklyn-class (light cruiser) that was the basis for the successful Baltimore-class, although the actual ship was a modified Northampton-class heavy cruiser
